We are excited to welcome Executive Chef John Phipps as the new owner of The Sourwood Restaurant at Sanders Ridge. The Shore Family continues to own/manage the winery while John owns/manages our on-site restaurant.
John brings culinary skills learned from his German grandmother and incorporates her European styles in his dishes as well as some Southern influences from his Virginia and North Carolina childhood.
John is a graduate of the GTCC School for the Culinary Arts and has worked in local fine-dining establishments such as Nobles Grill, Meridian and Mozelles Southern Bistro. His love of beekeeping, forging for mushrooms, farming and gardening are a perfect compliment to the local sourcing of ingredients we've always treasured here at Sanders Ridge.
The Sourwood Restaurant at Sanders Ridge offers unique seasonally influenced new southern cuisine from our own organically grown vegetables and herbs as well as other locally sourced foods.
We provide full service Lunch and Supper (that's Dinner in Yadkinese) dining on Thursday, Friday and Saturdays and Brunch on Sundays, all year long.
On Thursday evenings, we offer a Farm-to-Table Supper. The menu for our Supper changes weekly - and is posted on the website (right hand menu column) every Tuesday. Each week we'll offer 2-3 meat options and always have a vegetarian option.
We also provide full service private event dining.
Dine inside by the wood burning fireplace or out on our wide front porches and deck. Picnics and take-out from our restaurant are also available (please call ahead for picnic baskets). (No outside food or picnics allowed on our grounds - we appreciate your respect!)

for outside desserts cut and plated in our restaurant. No charge if you provide your own serviceware.
