How to Freeze Edemame

Rinse the whole pods and blanch in boiling water for 3 minutes.  Plunge in cold water and drain.  Spread them out on a cookie sheet and put in the freezer.  They will quickly freeze individually.  Once frozen, slide them into a freezer bag, burp out excess air and store in freezer.  When ready to use, place frozen pods in a small amount of water or steamer basket and steam/boil 5-6 minutes.  Cool, salt lightly (if desired) and enjoy!
