Starr’s Cooking Classes
(Held on the Second Saturday of the month – June - Oct.)
June 9 - "How to boil water"
July 14 - "Tomatoes, tomatoes, tomatoes" - Using fresh tomatoes of all varieties from our own USDA certified organic garden, you'll make salsa and other tasty treats using our favorite summer fruit.
Aug. 11 – “Southern Style” - Starr will focus on your favorite Southern comfort foods. You'll learn her secret to buttermilk fried chicken, homemade mayo, homemade pimento cheese (you'll make your own version - her recipe is still a secret), fried green tomatoes with Sanders Ridge Organic fresh tomatoes, and grits - yes grits. We all love 'em, now learn how to make 'em at home!

On class day, arrive at 8:30 am at Sanders Ridge. Class will start at 9 a.m. and last about 2 hours. Aprons will be provided but wear your “kitchen” clothes - something easily washable. No shorts, sleeveless shirts or open-toed shoes, please.
Each class is hands-on with Chef Starr in her kitchen at Sanders Ridge. Participants will take home their very own “sassy” ball cap – as well as a to-go box of what we make that day. Then, after all of your hard work, sit back and relax and enjoy a wine tasting (choose five of our 11 award-winning wines to sample).
Limited class sizes, so they will be filled on a first paid basis. The cost is $75 and is due upon signing up. Call 336 677-1701 to reserve your spot!
Payment
Payment must be made in advance – upon signing up. You may pay by credit card
(by phone) or mail a check to Sanders Ridge, 3200 Round Hill Road, Boonville,
NC 27011. Write in the memo line the cooking class date you are signing up
for and include a contact phone number and email address so that we can confirm
your reservation.
Cooking classes are nonrefundable, and there is a 24 hour cancellation policy. You may make reservations for another cooking class, transfer your class spot to someone else or use your $75 credit toward wine purchased (within this calendar year) in the winery as long as you give us notice of your inability to attend within 24 hours of the class. If you are transferring your spot in class to someone else, you must provide us with that person’s name and contact number within 24 hours of the class.
